The Siamese and Oriental Cat Society was established in Janauary 2007 and is run by cat show exhibitors, pet owners, and Oriental and Siamese cat breeders. We have an exciting and friendly club dedicated to the welfare and promotion of our breeds. The primary reason behind the forming of the SOCS was to provide a club that is based worldwide for all pet owners, show exhibitors, and cat breeders.
It is our intention to have a Society that caters for ALL breeds but takes a special interest in Siamese and Oriental Cats. You do not have to share your home with a Siamese or Oriental cat to join the Society, and membership is open to all feline lovers, regardless of breed, in both the UK and across the globe. SOCS is in the process of applying to become a TICA Charter Club.
TICA cat shows are fun for everyone regardless of whether you are showing a pedigree or a household pet.
The aims and objectives of the Society are:
| a) | To sponsor and promote the welfare of all breeds of cats, including household pets (mixed breeds). |
| b) | To sponsor cat shows and special programs and otherwise promote the interest in and knowledge of all domestic cats, with special emphasis on Siamese and Oriental cats. |
| c) | To cultivate friendship among and promote the interest of the owners, fanciers, and breeders of cats. |
| d) | To encourage breeding toward the TICA Standards and encourage the registration of cats within TICA. |
| e) | To encourage the showing of pedigree cats/kittens and household pet cats/kittens at TICA shows. |

To promote and encourage kindness to all animals and to assist in the prevention of cruelty and maltreatment of animals. |
g) |
To encourage the spaying and neutering of any and all cats not specifically being used as part of a viable breeding programme in order to reduce the excessive trend to over-population of, and tragedy among, unwanted domestic cats. |
h) |
To promote an interest in all Siamese and Oriental shorthair cats, including new varieties. |
i) |
To provide guidance for members on aspects of breeding, showing and responsible cat ownership. |
